Let’s Discuss Our Thoughts

Thoughts.

Thinking? Thoughts…

My thoughts on thoughts?

Well, I perceive them as mere evaluations. These evaluations are of the self, surroundings, other people, and situations. When you think, you’re attempting to figure things out and solve problems. That’s ultimately all it is.

So looking at the idea of thinking from a broad perspective, you see that it’s not much. At least, not enough to inflict stress into your life which then leads to illness and deterioration of mental and physical health.

Let’s take a step back. To break it down, what’s practically and indirectly being claimed here is that thinking causes stress. Does it? Ask yourself, then continue reading.

There is a correct answer and that is absolutely and without a doubt. Try to deny it. I want to say it’s negative thinking only, but in actuality, thinking at all does stress us out. When we’re thinking, were attempting to figure things out and those attempts result in minor to massive frustration and potentially until that “thing” is figured out or accomplished (unless you can just brush it off and forget about it which not everyone has the capability of doing).

And that stress… stress is a human being’s worst enemy. Stress is the root cause of almost, if not, all of our problems physically and mentally. Stress feeds any existing illness and will introduce new ones into existence along the way. I’m not implying that all sicknesses are caused by stress, but a good 99% of them are. Is that exaggerated? Maybe.

So where does stress come from? I believe we may have already discussed this, but it derives from thinking. If you don’t believe me, just believe me because if you try to think about where stress comes from, you’ll start thinking and thinking causes stress and stress kills. Okay. Step back again. I may be exaggerating again. But I’ve been made fun of in that way for trying to explain to people how thinking kills. And some or… most are passive about the ideal. Anyways, we’re human. And we humans have been thinking for as long as we can remember. That could be the age of 5 or 25, depending on the decency of your memory and the amount of marijuana you smoke.

Kidding.

This concept could extend to much deeper levels, but keeping it simple, thinking is okay, but to an extent. Overthinking is the issue and I can safely say most of us do suffer from this disease. Yes. Overthinking is most definitely a disease. In all reality, thinking is not as bad as I may have brought it out to be. Like I mentioned earlier, thinking is a form of evaluation. And evaluation can be beneficial to us and it can be a wonderful teacher. The type of thinking I’m really pointing out here is the negative aspect of it. And yes, I mentioned earlier that all thinking causes stress. But the secret is the way you think, how much you think, how you view your thinking, and how much YOU let it control your life. But for the sake of this article, negative thinking shall be the focus since the discussion of all else is much too complex and will be the topic in another article.

But these are the thoughts you have almost every damn second. The negative ones.

Try to deny it.

We all want to escape. It seems almost impossible, but it’s really not. One must truly seek to comprehend the intensity of thinking and genuinely want to overcome the disease in order to do so. There is a way to get rid of it completely, but it’s much more complicated and totally life altering as it takes a lot to be ready or capable of entering such a high level of consciousness. That’s also for a different blog post, though. After excessive training, I may or may not introduce this mysterious notion that some wise readers may have already discovered.

Moving on, let me introduce you to the intriguing concept of meditation. I’m sure it’s familiar, but it can be a lot more familiar.

“Oh, yeah.. I know what that is. It’s like.. when you sit crissy crossed with your thumb to your index and fingers pointed up and… I don’t know haha.”

Not quite…

Before we get into meditation, though, I want you to perceive your thoughts in a foreign manner. I know we’ve been taking a lot of steps back, but take a step back once more and look at your thoughts. Perceive them. And I want you to do this as if your thoughts are not a part of you. As if they’re outside of your self. Look at them and think… about the way you think. This is a critical idea of understanding. To master this is a colossal leap forward in progress.

Let’s take a step into this (not back this time hehe) and pan out this confusing mess before your thoughts go crazy and kill you. Let’s say your mind won’t stop racing about how you’ve gained 3 pounds and it shows. You’re thinking about it so much that you begin to feel depressed and feel you have 0 control over what’s going on in your head and now in your body and in your overall life at this point. Your confidence is slowly dropping and you realize you struggle to spit a normal sentence out when conversing with others. You believe things are just taking a toll and you have no choice but to fall with it.

This is dangerous and utterly harmful to you and your health. I’m sorry, take one last step back and just visualize the source thoughts that caused the supposed dump you’re in now. What was it? You gained 3 pounds and it shows. That’s a thought. And anyone could have that same thought. But the occurrences following the thought were entirely optional. You fell down that route because you viewed this thought that popped into your head as negative. You made it the end of the world. Well, your mind/thinking did. Not you. But really it was a mere observation. And any concepts in your life you view as negative can trigger more negative observations leading to a negative mindset leading to sadness leading to everything else in your life actually going wrong.

So negative.

Good news…

Any negative thought/observation (reminder: it’s only perceived as negative) such as weight gain can always be changed to meet your expectations and so simply.

Damn it! I gained 3 pounds. It takes me so long to lose weight. I’m so lazy. This is never going to work. And I eat like I have a disorder. What am I going to do? I’m going to get so depressed now because of this. And I look so ugly with this extra weight. I can’t wear the same clothes anymore. It’s too cold outside to lose weight. Damn it. Damn it. Damn it.

False.

All of this is false.

These are your barriers to success and achievement.

Thoughts!

Is anything clicking?

Well negative thoughts.

Thinking. It’s difficult to bring it to a complete halt. But can you… maybe switch it up a little? Bring some newness into it… some variation… hmmm

Positivity! That’s it!

You got it.

That’s all it is.

The. Key. To. Life. Is: Positive Thoughts with a a capital P and a capital T. Gosh am I revealing too much? I probably am. But you know what? I don’t mind sharing life’s true secrets with the world. Or the 0-.5 people that are probably going to see this. No fears. Just assistance to my fellow humans.

Oh. Look. I just had a negative thought.

“Or the 0-.5 people that are going to see this.”

That was negative. I could believe that way, but I could also believe my website will blow up and I’ll become famous just off of my writing. That’s positive. It’s always a wonderful thing to have visions and aspirations that you truly believe you can achieve because in doing so, you will manifest your desires.

So, what if I gained 3 pounds and flipped the on switch to positivity in my mind?

Mere observation: I gained 3 pounds. Hey, it’s fine. I can drop that weight quick. All I need to do is commit and that isn’t hard so long as I genuinely want to drop these extra flabs.

So I wanted to list the things I’d plan out for my journey to losing 3 pounds, but another key is living in the moment. Meanwhile, here’s the list anyways.

⁃ Hit the gym

⁃ Eat pure and healthy

⁃ Lots of agua

⁃ No eating past 8pm

Got it. I’ll just stick with this and I’m straight. And 3 pounds? So what. I still look and feel great because I’m happy and comfortable with who I am and that’s ultimately all that matters.

Facts.

And I just realized I provided this wonderful analogy because those are the exact thoughts I’m currently having and I actually did gain 3… well I gained almost 15 lbs. in January alone and I feel weird disclosing this information, but hey! Ups and downs! I’m going to lose it.

I could also observe the weight gain, but embrace my body anyhow because what really matters is what’s inside! I’m sure you hear that a lot, but it’s true. Your body is just flesh that you’re stuck inside of until you die. It’s material.

And I want to add that it isn’t just the negative thoughts that hurt you, but the unnecessary thoughts continuously flooding your head and depriving you of your awareness. You could be at work and thinking about how you can’t wait to buy those shoes you’ve been wanting when you get off or how much you hate your boss and these thoughts are what keep your consciousness in your HEAD rather than in the present moment where you are. In having these thoughts, you’re missing the little moments in the time you’re at work. If you walk into work one day after reading this and try to practice methods of awareness and meditation, you’re going to learn so much. You’re also going to notice how gorgeous the ceiling is and how complexly made that cubicle you’re sitting in is.

Sometimes, I think about how useless architecture or years of plan and work on aesthetics in buildings, etc. is when most people are too consumed in their thoughts (OR THEIR PHONES) to notice any of it!

But anyways, so, you’re positive now. What happens after that? Well your thoughts may slowly begin to clear up. Not completely right away, but enough so that you have room to live in the present and actually notice what’s going on right now. This raises a brand new sense of awareness in your life that you never know was possible and you begin to realize life is so much less stressful and unpleasant then how you’ve always perceived it to be. What happens around you? Well smiles are contagious. People around you will smile more. At you and to themselves. You will notice this. You will feel the positive energy all around you. People will notice you more. You will notice them more. You will engage with your surroundings and other humans more. You will feel love from everyone around you. If any negative energy tries to cross you, it’s no match for your new powers. It won’t bother you anymore. You’re on a new level and nothing as low as negative energy and shitty thoughts can make it to your level. You’re way too high now. Things look just breathtaking from up here, don’t they?

Perception is everything, love.

Enjoy.

And I realized I didn’t elaborate enough on the topic of meditation, but practicing these tips on positive thoughts and living is enough for now.

Stay tuned positive perceivers.
